  • New visual identity for the annual cinema festival, held since 2001 at the Sderot Cinematheque. "South" means far more than just location - it is a worldview implemented in a cinema that is low on funds, but rich in humanity. "The South" is a metaphor for creation taking place in a peripheral area, without inferiority complexes and with an ambition to spark off a critical dialogue with the hegemonic centre.

    The golden camel, a well-known Mediterranean symbol, is in the middle of the new visual identity - relaxing and observing. The typographic language uses a bilingual font, based on old wooden letters from the Mandatory Palestine days (1920-1948).
